The 2023 State A Golf Tournament was held at Meadowbrook Golf Course in Aberdeen.
Lennox High School had two athletes representing them at State — Ashlee Sweeter and Courtney Sandal. Sandal was a late edition to State following an error in the Region 2A scoring.
The State Tournament began on Monday, June 5 and continued through Tuesday, June 6.
Each athlete golfed 18 holes on Monday and an additional 18 holes on Tuesday with the two-day total, determining their placing.
Sweeter tied for 34th among the State’s top golfers, shooting a 94 on Monday and a 96 on Tuesday, giving her 190 total.
Sweeter shot par on four holes on Monday and par on three holes on Tuesday.
Sandal finished in 40th at State, shooting a 99 on Monday and a 94 on Tuesday, giving her 193 total. Sandal shot par on six holes during Tournament play.
Winning the State individual title was Rylan Horning from St. Thomas More. Horning shot a two-day total of 156, an 82 on the day one and a 74 on day two.
The State A team title was won by Sioux Falls Christian. Vermillion claimed second, St. Thomas More third, Dakota Valley fourth, and Canton rounded out the top five.
