On Thursday, May 11 the Lennox High School varsity and junior varsity girls’ golf team hosted a triangular against Elk Point Jefferson and Tea Area.
Lennox’s Ashlee Sweeter won the event shooting an 86 on the day. Sweeter shot a 45 on the front nine and a 41 on the back to lead all golfers. Courtney Sandal finished with a 93, shooting a 48 and a 45. Jazlyn Gayle shot a 109 (56, 53), Katelyn Vargas a 120 (58, 62), and Izzy Vargas a 128 (64, 64) to round out the varsity.
For the Junior Varsity, Catie Sherard led the way with a 120, shooting a 57 on the front nine and a 63 on the back. Olivia Homan shot a 138 (73, 65), Kaydence Gerry a 152 (70, 82) and Addy Stucky a 165 (83, 82).
The LHS varsity competed in Vermillion on Monday, May 15 at the Bluffs. Sweeter led the team with a 19th place finish finishing with a 91 on the day. Sandal took 28th with a 97, Gayle 38th with a 101, K. Vargas 58th with a 116 and I. Vargas 64th with a 131.
Winning the Invite was Canton’s Olivia Sorlie who shot an 80 on the day.
The Orioles will compete in the DakXII Conference Meet on Monday, May 22 at The Bluffs in Vermillion. Regions will be held at Spring Creek on Thursday, May 25 beginning at 9 a.m.
