A special meeting of the Board of Education of the Lennox School District No. 41-4 was held on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 6 p.m. in the Lennox School District administration office conference room in Lennox.
The following members were present: Heidi Bowers, Renae Buehner, Nick Butler, Melissa Daugherty, Scott Sandal, and Jennifer Slack. Clayton Wulf was absent. Also present was Angela Arlt, Business Manager.
President Sandal called the meeting to order at 6 p.m.
Hearing no comments from the public the board moved into executive session at 6:02 p.m. for personnel and to consult with legal counsel per SDCL 1-25-2 (1) and (3).
The board came out of executive session at 6:59 p.m.
Butler made a motion, seconded by Buehner to deny a patron request for a copy of the Chris Buckmiller investigation report based on it being an attorney work product and a personnel matter per SDCL 1-27-1.5 (4) and (7). The motion passed with Daugherty abstaining from voting.
A motion was made by Slack, seconded by Daugherty to indemnify the defense of Rebecca Kuyper with a limit of $5,000 as provided by Policy 2017 as the administrator acted in good faith and in the best interests of the District. Motion passed.
The board adjourned at 7:02 p.m.
