School board approves contracts

The Lennox School Board met Feb. 10 and approved next year’s contracts.

The board approved the resignations of Mike Fodness as junior high girls basketball coach upon suitable replacement is found and Joy Lang as 0.45 LWC IS music effective at the end of the school year.

They approved the new contract for Paul McVey as driver’s education instructor.

The board approved the 2025-26 administrative contracts for Chad Allison as junior high and high school principal and Title IX coordinator; Angela Arlt as business manager; Darin Eich as LWC intermediate principal, director of instruction and assessment and ELL/migrant program coordinator; Amanda Kruse as Worthing Elementary principal, director of curriculum and Title IX Part A: McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Coordinator; Rebecca Kuyper as junior high and high school assistant principal; Cody Lutes as Lennox Elementary principal and Title I coordinator; and Laura Welch as director of student services and 504 coordinator.

They also approved the 2025-26 director contracts for Alex Jorgensen as director of buildings and grounds; Steven Kruse as assistant director of technology with teaching duties; Sheryl Ledeboer as director of Totally Kids and Sunshine Preschool; Jeremy Luden as director of technology; Korey Relph as director of transportation; and Robbin Symens as director of food service.

The board reviewed the classified employee resignations from Morgan Wieker (Knutson), Kelly Shiell and Katlyn Finkral as special education assistants and Taya Decker as high school cook. They also reviewed the new work agreement for Brenda Peterson as high school cook. The board approved participating in the food service co-op agreement with Tea Area, West Central and Tri-Valley for the 2025-26 school year.


They approved the new substitutes - Amanda Baumann-Grunzke, Laurie Twibell, Susan Hanley and Julie Mahlon - for worker’s compensation.

The board declared an engine hoist and drill press as surplus items.

They approved the SourceWell contract bid for a 2026 Blue Bird propane bus for $141,862.69. Arlt said they also received a grant to help with the cost.

The board discussed the summer 2025 rates for Totally Kids. After discussion on if the rate increase will cover the expenses, which Arlt assured the board that it will, the board approved the family registration fee of $35 ($10 increase from 2024), weekly rate of $120 ($5 increase), drop-in rate of $60 ($10 increase), half-day drop-in rate of $30 ($5 increase) and a $3 increase for the 4-day rate, 3-day rate, half-day weekly rate, half-day 4-day rate and half-day 3-day rate.

Allison noted the priming and painting the new gym had started and HVAC ducts were going in in the high school addition. Concrete has been poured in the concession stand and lobby. They gym floor will go in in early May and the bleachers in late May with hopes of being able to use it this summer. He said they are looking at Sept. 1 for completion of the whole project.

The board went into executive session at 6:38 p.m. for personnel and negotiations.
