Santa night to be held Dec. 9 Coloring book illustrators chosen

The Lennox Commercial Club invites the community to join in the holiday festivities at their annual Santa Night and Tree Walk, scheduled for Monday, December 9, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Lennox Intermediate Cafeteria.

This event will feature something for everyone in the family. Guests can enjoy a free-will donation community meal, snap photos and share wishes during visits with Santa, and take part in the excitement of raffle baskets filled with holiday treasures. You will also get a chance to vote for your favorite tree decorated by area businesses.

Adding to the festivities, the Lennox Spanish Class will host a bake sale offering delicious treats and provide free temporary tattoos for kids and the young at heart.

One gift children will receive from Santa that evening will be the annual holiday coloring book. This special project, organized by The Lennox Independent and Tea Weekly newspapers, features illustrations drawn by local high school artists. Illustrators chosen for the 2024 Holiday Coloring Book from Lennox High School include: Alissa Johanson, Reanna Decker, Allison Schulz, Andie Brende, Annika Winterboer, Bethany Wendt, Kristiana Nelson, Isabel Sterling, Jersie Hostetler, Kaitlyn Overweg, Keegan Vander Plaats, Kianndra Fergen, Madyson Dykstra, Maliyah Hofer, McKenna Visscher, Peyten Wright, and eighth grader Chase Flannagan.

Receiving the title of top artist and a $25 cash prize is Alissa Johanson.

Looking for more fun on Monday night. The Lennox Community Library will be holding their Holiday Open House from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. that evening as well. Make and take holiday crafts for all ages will be available along with a holiday movie shown in the back room. They will also have cookies and cider for all to enjoy.
