POET Bioprocessing – Chancellor gives $4,000 in community impact grants

CHANCELLOR, S.D. ) – POET Bioprocessing – Chancellor awarded $4,000 in grants to three local organizations: Wings of Valor Lodge, the City of Lennox, and the Viborg Lutheran Youth Group. The funds were donated through POET’s 2024 Community Impact Grant Program, which awards grants to a variety of causes throughout the more than 30 communities in which the company operates.

The Wings of Valor Lodge received a grant for their mission of supporting veterans by providing a gathering place to heal in mind, body, and spirit. Supported by an all-volunteer staff, Wings of Valor has served over 500 veterans from across the country and provides pheasant hunting and other outdoor experiences at no cost to veterans

The City of Lennox will use the funds to help afford the cost of a new playground at Westerman Park. The playground will include play features for all youth and includes ADA-accessible features for those with disabilities.

The Viborg Lutheran Youth Group received a grant to purchase materials for a service week. The youth group has invited other community youth groups to join them in service work: yard work and landscaping for elderly or less-than-able residents, as well as cleaning and regrouting windows for the Viborg Community Food Pantry.

“Part of POET’s mission is giving back to our local communities,” said Tom Pierson, General Manager of POET Bioprocessing – Chancellor. “We are proud to support organizations and groups that share our mission and help make the world a better place.”

Through POET’s annual Community Impact Grant Program, individuals and organizations are invited to apply for funding for projects aimed at changing their community for the better.

The next grant cycle will open in the spring of 2025. For more information, visit poet.com/grants
