Meyer and Lefers to reign over Homecoming week festivities

On Monday night, Lennox High School held their 2024 Homecoming Coronation. Following a performance by the LHS cheerleaders, the LHS band, and hearing from coaches and players of all the fall sports, the time finally came to crown the 2024 Marshal and Queen.

Last year’s Marshal, Michael Hall, held the crown over the Marshal candidates before finally placing it on Emory Lefers’ head. 

Following the Marshal’s crowning, Hall placed the crown over Lilly Meyer’s head. Meyer and Lefers will reign over this week’s Homecoming festivities.  

Other Queen candidates included Natalie Andernacht, daughter of Jordon and Stacey Andernacht; Ryan Hanssen, daughter of Chris and Kim Hanssen; Charlee Jorgensen, daughter of Casey and Quinn Jorgensen; and Kelsey Schmidt, daughter of Bob and Patricia Schmidt.  Other Marshal candidates included Noah Buhta, son of Austin and Christina Buhta; Nate Haar, son of Jake and Paula Haar; Boston Katzer, son of Cody and Dusti Katzer; and Noah Sayler, son of Ethan and Christi Sayler.

Emcees for the night were Emersen Lee and Gavin Swier.  

The Homecoming Parade will be held Friday, September 27, starting at 1:30 p.m., and the Varsity Football game against Dakota Valley at home starting at 7:00 p.m. A tailgate meal will be served beginning at 4:30 p.m. This is a fundraiser for the LHS band. The LHS Marching Band will also perform their field show at halftime. 

Parade entries can line up on Park Drive beginning at 12:30 p.m. The Homecoming Parade will begin Friday, Sept. 27 at 1:30 p.m. The route will head North on Main to 1st Ave. East on 1st Ave. to Cherry. South on Cherry to 6th Ave. East on 6th Ave. to exit. Elementary students will go West on 6th Ave. to return to school for parent pick-up.
