Sewing and baking were things that our grandmas and mothers taught most of us while we were growing up. Many of us would never have thought to take the two and create two businesses with them; however, that is just what one Lennox resident has done.
Becky Decker moved to Lennox about five years ago, and her children all attended school in Lennox, so the town has always felt like home to her. Decker has been doing alterations for 10 years. She mostly focuses on wedding party alterations and the special occasion alterations needed during the wedding season.
Decker said, “My favorite part is when brides are happy with their dress and the excitement of how well it fits.”
While wedding and bridesmaids’ dresses keep her busy during wedding season, Decker found herself with more time during the off-season. With that extra time, Decker took another one of her loves and started making pot pies. Creating delicious pot pies for others was another way for Decker to take her hobby and create a business.
When she isn’t busy sewing or cooking, Decker is busy with two of her five children who are still at home. She is also the proud grandmother of one. Decker said she doesn’t need any hobbies since both of her hobbies turned into businesses, which has turned out well for her.
You can reach out to Decker on social media or by contacting her at 605-759-3632.
