LHS girls handle Hanson

On Friday, Feb. 14 the Lennox High School girls’ basketball team traveled to Hanson and used a 17-4 opening quarter to get control right away and never look back. Lennox went on to get the 62-29 victory. 

“I was pleased with how hard we played from start to finish. We took control early and won the turnover, free throw, and rebounding battles,” said head coach Adam Quail. “If we continue to value the basketball and crash the offensive and defensive glass we will be in every game.”

Against Hanson, Ryan Hanssen led the team with 13 points. She also grabbed four rebounds, had two assists and one steal. Karlie Bosma finished with 12 points, two rebounds, one assist and three steals. Andie Peters hit three three-pointers in the game to finish with nine points. She also had two rebounds. 

Bergan Musser added seven points, grabbed three rebounds, had three assists and two steals for Lennox. Libby Kranz had five points, three rebounds, one assist and two steals. Gavyn Herlyn and Tori Gerdes each provided four points. Herlyn also had five assists and three steals. Gerdes finished with four rebounds, two assists and four steals. 

Mia Hanisch and Jayla DeCou each had three points in the game. Hanisch had one rebound and two steals. DeCou finished with one rebound and one steal. Adie McVey also contributed to the scoring with two points in the game. She also had one steal. Sydney Johnson grabbed one rebound in the game. 

The Feb. 18 game against Beresford has been postponed. The team will be at Tri-Valley on Thursday, Feb. 20 in a double header with the LHS boys. The Lennox girls’ are scheduled to tip-off at 6:30 p.m. This marks the final regular season game for the LHS girls. Playoff action will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 24 and continue on Feb. 27.
