On Thursday, Jan. 23 the Lennox High School girls’ basketball team hosted West Central. The Orioles jumped out to a 19-10 lead and despite an attempted comeback by the Trojans, the Orioles hung on for the 46-40 victory.
“I was really pleased with our transition defense and commitment to rebounding. We knew that if we took both away West Central would struggle offensively,” said LHS head coach Adam Quail. “I was also excited with how we started both halves as we have started slow the past few games.”
Lennox was led by Ryan Hanssen who finished the night with 14 points. She also had six rebounds in the game. Libby Kranz was also in double figures, scoring 12 points and grabbing eight rebounds. She also had two assists and one steal. Andie Peters provided eight points and grabbed four rebounds. Bergan Musser and Karlie Bosma both finished with six points. Musser had two rebounds and Bosma pulled down four in the game. She also had a steal. Tori Gerdes had three rebounds, one assist and two steals and Gavyn Herlyn grabbed seven rebounds and had five assists.
Lennox will host Parker on Thursday, Jan. 30 in double header action with the LHS boys. The girls’ are scheduled to tip-off at 6 p.m. Lennox will be home again on Tuesday, Feb. 4 when they play host to Elk Point Jefferson and will be at home again on Thursday, Feb. 6 when they host Baltic.
