LHS girls defeat Parker

On Thursday, Jan. 30 the Lennox High School girls’ basketball team hosted Parker and gained control early, leading 28-8 at the half. The Orioles continued to dominate, going on to take the 54-22 victory. 

“We did a good job of forcing Parker into 34 turnovers and making them feel uncomfortable throughout all four quarters,” said LHS coach Adam Quail. “I was also pleased with how we dominated the boards and how we set up open teammates as we collected 18 assists.”

Leading the Orioles was Andie Peters who finished with 17 points on the night. Peters hit three from downtown and grabbed two boards and had one steal. 

Ryan Hanssen was also in double figures for the Orioles, scoring 12 points in the game. She also had two rebounds, one assist and three steals.

Libby Kranz scored eight points on the night, and grabbed five rebounds, had two assists and two steals. Bergan Musser finished with seven points, grabbed five rebounds, had four assists and four steals. 

Karlie Bosma scored six points, grabbed five rebounds, had four assists and the led the team in steals with six. Both Mia Hanisch and Tori Gerdes finished with two points each. Hanisch also had one rebound and three assists. Gerdes had one rebound, three assists and one steal. Gavyn Herlyn had five steals, two rebounds, and one assist. 

The LHS girls were scheduled to host Elk Point Jefferson in double-header action on Tuesday, Feb. 4. They will be home again on Thursday, Feb. 6 when they host Baltic in double header action with the LHS boys. The LHS girls are set to tip-off at 6:15 p.m. 

On Saturday, Feb. 8 the team will compete in the DakXII/NEC Clash in Madison. Lennox is set to face off against Clark Willow Lake at 11: 45 a.m. in the Madison High School gym.
