On Wednesday, Sept. 11 the Lennox High School girls’ Junior Varsity tennis team traveled to McKennan Park in Sioux Falls to take on the O’Gorman Knights.
The day started off with doubles where the duos of Sierra Wesseling and Reba Schroder and Gracie Wood and Izzie Gerdes each won with a score of 10-8 and 6-0 respectively.
The duos of Bri Slack and Holly Gillick, Maliyah Hofer and Ella Ellwein and Lily Kezar and Addy Wesselink also competed and had close matches, but weren’t able to pull out wins. Then the dual moved on to singles where wins were earned by Wesseling, Schroeder, Wood and Gerdes.
“Even though the team competed hard and played well, they dropped the team dual 6-9 to the Knights,” said head coach Kevin Plank.
Next up, the team travels to Milbank on Tuesday, Sept. 24 to take on the Bulldogs and Aberdeen Roncalli.
