Congratulations Lennox High School Cross Country Team On a Great Season

The 2023 SDHSAA State Cross Country Meet - Class A edition brought together some of South Dakota’s most talented runners.

Amidst the field of competitors, the Lennox runners made their mark.

In the girls 5k race, Sioux Falls Christian’s Corinne Braun won the individual championship with a time of 18:02.59.

Leading Lennox was Kelsey Schmidt who took 33rd with a time of 20:00.52. Adie McVey finished 40th with a time of 20:15.88. Regan Van Meeteren finished in 57th with a time of 20:49.55. Karlie Bosma took 99th with a time of 21:58.26, Kamille Schmidt 103rd with a time of 22:06.05, and Josephine Plucker 104th with a time of 22:06.05. There were a 126 total runners in the girls’ event.

Sioux Falls Christian won the team title. Lennox finished 12th as team.

In the boys’ 5K race, Luke Rupert of Hill City emerged as the individual champion, clocking in at an impressive 15:26.51.

Leading Lennox was Noah Sayler who finished 36th with a time of 17:23.95 in the event. Maverick Horst took 52nd with a time of 17:40.15; Cade Sherard took 57th with a time of 17:45.59 in the event, Chett Jibben 62nd with a time of 17:52.54, Cloy McVey took 75th with a time of 18:18.62, and Lucas Hartman finished 89th with a time of 18:47.74. There were a total of 125 runners competing the boys’ event.

Hill City won the team title with Lennox finishing in the 10th position overall.
