Lennox superintendent Kirk Easton, along with middle school students and staff surprised LWC middle school principal Chad Allison with an assembly March 6.
Easton called the assembly to present Allison with the South Dakota middle school principal of the year award. After being nominated by his fellow principals from the southeast region last fall, Allison competed against six other regional winners.
He will go on to compete in Washington, D.C., for the national award later this year.
“I feel very fortunate to have him as our middle school principal and soon to be 7-12 principal next year,” Easton said.
Allison has been the middle school principal for the district for two years and was the Marion 6-12 principal for three years prior to coming to Lennox.
He said the award announcement was a complete surprise and an honor.
