July 4th—Independence Day—a holiday that marks America’s independence from Great Britain and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It’s a day of celebration throughout the United States. And no one does it better than the community of Lennox. The Old-Fashioned Fourth of July in Lennox has become a tradition for the community and for many outside of the community. Lots of families and classes plan their reunion during the weekend because people are off of work and it is just so much fun to be in Lennox during the weekend.
Catch the Legion team’s baseball game on Friday at 1:30 or 4 p.m. and you will have a chance to check out the newly restored baseball field. The project as a whole finished on budget and was estimated at a value worth $110,000. The City paid $36,000 and the LBA (Lennox Baseball Association) raised $20,000. The $110,000 project was able to be completed with that budget thanks to the volunteers that donated over 2,500 hours in labor.
